Yes, today is Steven Tyler's birthday!!

He is 62 years HOT! ;) I am so totally in love with him!!! *sigh*

I hope i look that damn good when I'm 62 (after all, he lived through the whole "sex, drugs, and rock and roll era!) That means I have half a chance, right? hehe

What's Your Excuse?

Do you know what it feels like when you know you have to do "something"
... but can't, or don't want to, or make lame excuses for yourself?
Yeah, me too.

For example (just in case there is maybe that ONE person who has never felt like this-HA!), you are hungry, and you cannot ignore it anymore cuz your belly is screaming so loud that the neighbors can hear it, and the only person that can do ANYthing about it is you...uhm, by eating, silly!!! Well, how many times (in this particular situation) do you know you actually have to eat to get that loud annoying grumble to go away, but for some unknown reason (see above) you never actually eat, or wait for HOURS to eat because ... either
1) your too damn lazy to get off your ass and get something... or
2) you can't decide what you want exactly at this moment - I mean, damn, there are soooo many choices... or
3) there is no damn food in the house (refer back to #1) ... or
4) your waiting for someone else to make you some damn food (because you -and I- deserve it, lmao!) - this might be another #1 reference here ...or
5) insert another lame excuse here OR
6) etc. etc. etc.
Yeah, well, THIS decision "example" was a simple one...we all know (or most of us can figure out haha) that the solution is fairly simple as well.

There are some waaaay tougher decisions or situations that may need to be acted on ASAP... but sometimes you just don't wanna, or can't, or feel you NEED to make excuses (called "procrastination" in some cases) OR, maybe, it's actually FEAR? (this theory might not work so well in the eating scenario depicted above...I mean, who the heck is afraid to eat? ---wait, dammit, I think I just came up with the PERFECT weight loss plan!!! I'm going to scare myself thin! lol) ;)

Yeah, of course I got off track...who's blog do you think you're reading?? lol *gets back on track*

Fear, yeah that's right. Not so sure I want to go there...probably why I digressed! lol
Will fear be the reason that no decision was made? which leads to avoidance of the situation/decision, which also may lead to more indecisiveness and excuses...
eventually snowballing into this big chaotic process we call life? (okay, well maybe not-so-much lol - but you get my drift!)
These big time decisions could affect overall happiness...and maybe well-being.

But I'm me. And guess what?
Yep, still postponing (what may be) the inevitable.

Usually, I just jump. with no parachute. and, most of the time, land safely.
This time, this big decision... it's just scary...
This time, I'm stuck at the edge with no parachute...
and I'm afraid to jump.

1st 2010 Picnic!

Saturday (3/20/10) was a great day for a picnic...it was the first day of spring, and it actually felt like it for once (meaning it didn't snow two feet on the "first day of spring" like it usually does, LOL)

Anywho...me and Alex and Chrystal and Vincent decided to have ourselves a little picnic with just the four of us at the Wiconisco park. It was a nice day topped with some FREE Rita's!! :)

Vincent and Alex were working hard in the sandbox...

Runaway Chicken?

Today, I came home to a sad Alex. :( His chicken, Foghorn, cannot be found anywhere. We haven't seen him since yesterday...although the neighbor kid said he saw him this AM (we did not!) SIGH. I can only hope a chicken finds his way home like a dog does, and the good news is that he is not chickenroadkill. Yet.

This is especially sad for Alex because tomorrow is the one year anniversary of his dog's (Oreo) passing.

Both occasions brought Alex to tears. :*(

It's not so bad...

Sometimes I complain.

Lately, I have been complaining about where I live... the winter... the walk out that damn LONG ASS driveway in negative 10 degree weather with the wind blowing like theres no tomorrow - through 3 feet of drifted snow...

I need to stop complaining because right from my very own yard...
I also get this... beautiful sunrises...

Today is my anniversary! :)

When I say that, I get all kinds of crazy responses...such as:
My hubby: *look of terror cuz he thinks he forgot* Today?
My boss: Oh, congrats! How long have you been here?

LOL! Not that kind of anniversary! Silly folks!

On this date of March 1 in the year of 2001, I QUIT SMOKING!!
Today marks the 9 year anniversary of my quit date! :)
I am so proud!! and I will celebrate this date every single year I am smoke free for as long as I live (extra long, now that I'm not smoking!) ;)

I mainly quit because I did not have a job at the time and was broke as a joke. I could not afford cigarettes at $2+ a pack (and I AM SHOCKED at the price of a pack of cigs today...at almost $6 a pack!) O_O
It was not easy by any means...but I did it "cold turkey" -- just picked a day, and said "that's it!" Now, I did try to quit like three times prior to this date and started back up every time (except when I was pregnant...as soon as I knew I was pregnant, I quit -- for 7 months...immediately after I had said child, I started again...this was a REALLY DUMB MOVE!!!) Withdraw is 10 times harder the second or third time you try to quit!
but I finally did it!!

Hubby was supposed to quit with me and he tried, but failed! He STILL smokes today! ugh! This is why I know the price of cigs, this is why I know how nasty it is (yes, I am a big time hypocrite! lol) and this is why I know I will NEVER smoke again! He reminds me! Every day! After smoking, his breath stinks, and he smells like an ashtray, more often than not! His pillow case (which was white) has a permanent "yellowish" stain because even after you are done smoking that cigarette, it is still on your breath and on/in your skin. Ewwwww!! : {

Did I realize this or know it when I smoked? not really, and if I did, I ignored it
Am I glad I realize this now?
ABSOLUTELY!!!

They say humans look just as silly when we do it... I live by this motto! :D
